This painting is based off of a photo by the extremely talented Joel Fuller, who woke up at 4:30am to head out on a sunrise ski tour to capture Atwell in all of its glory. He generously agreed to let me use the photo as a reference for this painting, which transported me to this frosty, dreamy vantage point every time I sat down to paint it.
