This watercolour and pen and ink painting is of Mount Begbie, the most iconic mountain in Revelstoke, BC. I painted it en plein air (outside) from the ski/mountain bike resort for the Wildflower Festival, and it rained, hailed and thundered on me for most of the day, so I painted the foreground flowers and trees since they were all I could see. The sun eventually came out near the end of the day, revealing the rest of this beautiful view. It was a very long, wet and cold day of painting, but the result was one of my favourite pieces to date.
