There's something about the way this little fox is holding its face up into the wind that I find completely irresistible. Not bracing against it, not startled by it, just fully present in it, nose up, fur streaming, completely at ease in the middle of the open prairie at golden hour.
I wanted to capture that feeling of just being exactly where you are, which is harder to paint than it sounds.
This 6×12” original painting is acrylic and aerosol on a 1.5” gallery depth cradled birch panel.
